Kenya·Run by Rift Valley Printmakers

Nakuru Printmakers Collective

Etching press restoration and copper-plate supplies for the Rift Valley's only open-access printmaking studio.

The Nakuru Printmakers studio has a working etching press from 1987, a stock of copper plates donated by a retired Nairobi printer, and a waiting list of artists who can't afford commercial rates.

This fund restores the press to reliable tension, replaces the plate-stock as editions run through it, and keeps the studio open on Saturdays for artists who can only come after their weekday work.

What a donation buys

  • 6,000 KES — copper plate stock for a 30-print edition
  • 14,000 KES — press restoration parts and a technician day
  • 35,000 KES — a quarter's Saturday open-studio hours

Each edition's proceeds and a materials-cost ledger are published per release.
