Kisumu Youth Mural Lab

Spray kits, scaffolding weeks, and mentorship stipends for the lakeside mural crew painting Kisumu's public walls.

Kisumu's lakefront walls are the city's biggest blank canvas — and the young crew painting them are self-taught, working with borrowed ladders and partial cans.

This lab funds the gear that turns a crew into a regiment: shared spray kits with reclaim masks, fortnightly scaffolding hire so they stop climbing on each other, and a senior muralist stipend that keeps a mentor on site.

What a donation buys

  • 4,200 KES — a shared spray kit, masks and filters included
  • 9,500 KES — one scaffolding week for a six-wall block
  • 22,000 KES — a mentor's month on site

Wall-by-wall photographs and a materials ledger are published per block finished.
