Girls Who Print — Mombasa

Screen printing is the cheapest way to turn a drawing into an income: one screen, one squeegee, ink by the litre. The equipment is the hard part.

This fund buys the boring, durable things — two aluminium screens, a bench press, registration hinges, and a year of ink — for a Mombasa workshop cohort of twelve girls, most of whom have never held a print bigger than a school exam.

What a donation buys

• 5,000 KES — one screen, hinge-set and degreased
• 12,000 KES — a term of Thursday ink
• 45,000 KES — the bench press that stays when the residency doesn't
